The original draft of the story reads nothing like the final version. But that's okay. It was a starting point. After multiple story revisions and sketches that haven't made it to the final pages of the book, I am now at a stage where I can move on to the next step. As much a would have liked to finish my own coloured artwork, I did hire an illustrator to help polish up my sketches and create a cover. Both manuscript and cover has been uploaded and a proof copy requested for an inspect. Preliminary launch date set and will be announced on delivery of the proof copy. Follow me for the next update. Working on a children's picture book through each of the stages, takes time. Looking back, I started on the first draft of the text in October 2025. And after a few revisions and almost nightly readings for my daughter did I take the leap and decide to develop it into a picture book. With over 12 full complete pages and another 10 in progress, I'm looking forward to completing the project. A quick sketch of a potential future character? Time will tell. Sharing some of the latest pages for the children's book "Rocket the Dog". I printed off the completed images for my personal critic to review. I can confirm that my 3 year old daughter was really excited to see them 😊. After many nights of reading her the text, it felt good to have some of the images ready to go. At least now all her teddies are up to date on the latest with Rocket. 😊 The next 10 pages are in progress and I hope to share some of these on completion.
